I had the Talara Sting R, even went to the trouble to make it road legal to be able to go to my local trail. Unfortunately, the range is really a problem. Buying a second battery, besides being very expensive, won't do me any good if I'm in the middle of the trail. Also, at least the Talaria always felt more like a mountain bike than a motorcycle. Fun at the begining but it felt underwhelming after a while and again, half way my enjoyment I needed to turn around to make it back home to then wait for 4 hours until I can ride it again.

@RhysDavid-w4g4pI like mine. I can't ride my crf110 in the public park with the lesbians down there so my talaria mx4 allows me to ride spots nobody's hit yet, I ride to Wendy's, ace, all while going over the speed limit in the road and nobody cares. If I was to ride my 110 or 250 my neighbors would be pissed and if I rode to the store I'd get impounded immediately. It sounds like you're either a kid or just never ridden one. They are fun and have uses that people want. With all that said, I'm sure this KTM is 4 grand so I'm straight with that but there's other brands that are Ballance bikes with drill batteries which I'd get my daughter once she's on the bigger Ballance bike.

I have a hilarious Sting mx4 from 2024 and I've already had to replace parts because they broke in the geometry was way off.... Cost me 4600 out of box.. with $1,000 in parts thus far... Stupid

Excellent review.. had mine about the same. Have 8860 miles on it. Just did a Torp 500 and it’s so much more powerful. Still stock battery. I do have new brakes waiting as the stockers are just not enough at this point. Supermoto wheels will go on with breaks. I 100% recommend talaria. I have had zero problems. Other than pads and a couple chains and oil. And one rear tire. Run 241 ‘s also run a 19/17 rims works great.

Great video. I DO think one comment is bizarre / terribly incorrect; "The electric motor SHOULD last 100 hours with no maintenance". This is really confusing. What are you talking about? Possibly you're not that informed regarding motors. An electric motor has 1 moving part - the rotating armature, and there is ZERO oscillating mass (compared to ICE, which has hideous quantities of stop/start parts, hence the need for oil changes and motor rebuilds and valve adjustments). OK, back to motors. Electric motors last SO long it's nearly immeasurable. With NO maintenance, btw. Because there is nothing to service, literally. An electric car motor will never wear out, in practice. The other aspects of the car - doors, seats, screens, etc...those things will wear out before the motor. Think somewhere between 1 million and 10 million miles for the motor. Think I'm joking? I'm not. Electric motors are used in VERY high torque environments all over our planet. We have lots of data. A decent motor (such as the unit in the Varg) will spin forever, effectively. Btw, I've owned a Talaria MX4 for a year and LOOOOOOVVVVVEEEEE it. So surprising. I did worry I'd miss the sound and shifting of ICE bikes. But that went away after a couple of rides. I don't miss having to fan all the controls all the time. I love the precision accuracy of an electric motor, how well it climbs and navigates nasty obstacles, and how I can fly from corner to corner with just throttle and brakes - all on my handlebars! 🙂

Bud it's definitely worth the price. I have a damn near fully built Talaria mx4 that reaches a top speed of 80mph and is a trail beast with a range of 100 miles. Can't knock it till you try it

I just got one. 5’8” 150 lbs. It most definitely will power wheelie.

You can DEFINITELY daily drive. I’ve got a talaria mx4 and I’ve been daily driving for the last 2 weeks because my jeeps engine blew 😢 but I have to say they are beast in traffic especially those effed up construction zones you can zip right around anyone lol

i got a sting r and its such a blast. It has so much torque that if I go full throttle off of a complete stop, it basically does a wheelie. John the battery rattle is basically fixed on my bike and i wanted to ask you, what do you personally think of the talaria sting r
