bro its so annoying it just blurrs every two seconds
The lowers of the fork aint titanium they are oil slick
When you hit the brake the first time it’s called brake fade It’s normal
This is so fast 😂 it's low-key funny to see such a nice bad looking bike that is fast for what it is but still wish it go least a buck twenty as fast as a CBR or R1 up to its top speed it's possible but it's like putting a bunch of parts on a Honda Civic it's eventually going to blow the motor or eat to the chain and sprocket you're always going to be replacing parts as much as you ride it IDK
That brake issue has happened to my I have no clue why
Break in the pads from doing wheelies😅😅😅😂
They're not supposed to sound like that, it's probably because they went straight to doing wheelies without braking in the pads
That one was the thrill seekers but I stopped using it cause the zipper started sticking. 😑
Surron is way better. I haven’t tested the light bee 2 yet.
Light bee is easier to whellie but i got a ultra bee so i gotta sa ultra bee
Today I fell from my eBay the surround year then I fell from it and for no any reason I was going on highway yet then it go on fire then I need to go to the hospital because I was burn
who cares about speed i care about range miles i wanted b cruising around new york city MANHATTAN for at least 8 hours and u cant with this bike FACT YALL DONT BUY
full throttle range miles not even 15 miles
I have the pro R, and was certainly hoping for a better range than I am getting , And more than you got . 30 to 35 miles into limp mode ,Still gives plenty of range anxiety for me. The hype on this bike right before it came out, led us to believe that we could easily expect 40 to 50 miles of aggressive trail riding. Yes, I did get the BMS update, but it sounds like the H-E-B file won’t help me any. Besides that, my biggest complaint with this bike is the cramped cockpit, and I’m only 5 foot 10. Even with my aftermarket riser bars and bar mount, and lowered foot peg brackets, it has me sitting on the very tail end of the seat, Whether I am seated or not. And goddamn, that end of the seat is Fu#$ing tiny! Rode my friends Ultra Bee For a mile or two, and although that bike was much heavier and doggy, I sure was jealous of the real seat that you could actually sit on.
I keep getting jackshaft wobbles what a pile of sh*te its every singke one I had
It literally did this to me two days ago 😫 Put the EBG ultra bee kit back on
I bought a Surron Ultra Bee based on your recommendation. Still happy after two years! 😊
Rip to your Friend Fyi..Talking about the Ultra in a way....I just installed the Ebmx V3 X9000 & Race Harness to an Ultra Bee....& with the New Firmware from Ebmx....Monster !
we have two of these, both of them won't charge up after sitting for a couple months. They were great bikes when they worked, hopefully we can get em fixed.
ive been waiting almost a year for their rear fenders to be restocked..... and now my rear caliper locked up and have to send it to china to get a new one under warranty
that range is nothing compared to my 2025 ultra bee i get 80 miles of range riding like how you were
Mine got roached after a month and I maintained it really well
Logan my new bike is so much fun thanks for showing me which one to get
Still less power it's 25 kw it's just tuned to go fast but it lacks torque
2026 ultra bee I got 30miles in Daily mode with a lot of elevation gain - test the new ultra bee
@Whitt.Welding.Fencingwas the first thing I put on my ultra bee… even like just street riding if I wanna take my hands on the bars to like check my phone on a down hill I need the foot brake to controll my speed
yeah agree. even my ultra bee is just a bit small and I am 6ft 180lb
How does 90km top speed not seem logical? My ultra bee with 0 field weakening, all upgraded electronics, 25k-30kw, does 90km/h top speed..Might be because went to a bigger 50T sprocket but regardless, 90km/h top speed is just fine for this stock bike.
I ride the ultra bee im 6 4 and its great i have a talaria xxx which is terrible for my height and also an mx5 which is great also but just a tiny bit to small for me still the ultra bee with 21/18s is where its at for taller riders
@SparkyUnknownI wound up getting it and it’s sweet!
It was traction control what help with ultrabee turn it off and try hill again
Thanks mate appreciate the comment 🫡 you are not wrong I’m on my 3rd inner tube now in 6 months 😂
Same, purchased the standard model in jan 2026, it is a hybrid some sort... it has all the software upgrade, reverse traction control, but has the 55Ah battery and the standard motor. 54 tooth on the rear with a wider tire and she rips.
I ride sn ultrabee on 4 hr club enduros. Range is a problem for all electric bikes but I managed 32 miles yesterday at a fast ish pace. I got a Surron because I simply don't want the cost or maintenance involved in gas bikes anymore. If I got a 2nd battery it would make events more realistic.
Dude my bike beraly goes 22 in the first place
I've owned both the Surron Ultra Bee and the Stark Varg. If you just ride trails, the Surron Ultra Bee is better and half the price. If you just ride motocross, though, the Stark Varg is better.
I can Wheelie my ultra bee at 11 years old
Depends on what you are doing. But yes, this is better than other bikes I have ridden in this class. Power is much stronger than Ultra bee. Ultra bee feels kinda big and clunky. This bike is more fun and flickable imho. Easier to take up knarly hills because it's smaller/lighter. I will say my 880exe is better for more wide open riding and bigger hits. These small emotos don't do as well on high speed type stuff. They are great for crawling around and playing, but not so good at hammering big open spaces with big rocks and hits. Bike is just too small to push hard. Unlike my 880 which is just like riding a full size moto. Harder in the tight technical, but easier to go fast and hammer if that makes sense.
its good - better version of the qronge X1 - kinda line the Leon.
Howdy, Artic Leopard / Ultra bee rider out of DTLA. You're spot on with the issues of the bike, the seat is a medieval torture device for long rides 😅 I'm running the stock for regen in the front and the EBG Ultra setup for the rear. It's the way 👍
Yo the brake pads make it look so badddddd but yes still the best bike out there
I realize this video was over a year ago but I just bought the 25 Ultra bee and man this bike is quiet
@mariomonterrosa9356 for the weight difference yeah. but my Ultra Bee would smoke a Ventus now. for sure the ventus when the ultra is stock, but I am running 88v at 112HP, it's a 100mph bike now. running the aetos + ryuga motor + DHS Battery.
@m@farrisbngI think it depends on what you plan on doing with the bike. The ultrabee is a great bike. Has some flaws but they are well documented. It’s a bigger bike than the xe pro. It would be better for a bigger rider or someone who wants to ride a motocross track. The xe pro enduro works well for me because it’s lighter and smaller. It’s easier to handle in really rough terrain. No belt and jackshaft to worry about either.
Cool. As a swede I am kinda proud the the Varg comes from here. I got the Ultra Bee as it is much lighter so easier to lift after a crash when competing and super tired. (93 kgs) Also quick to swap batteries.
@Cman-e6rit’s faster than ultra bee i raced my friend who has a ultra bee and the delta is a few mph faster
I love seeing people get on these LBX and be genuinely happy. I got my first one in 2019 and worked my way to the ERIDE, now Ultra Bee. when I get on the LBX now it feels slow. I wish I could go back and get your experience, as everything now feels really slow and you always want more and the bikes stop feeling "fast"
Xe pro s and vetra blazer are not only faster than the ultrabee stock, you can tune them to go even faster. Those 2 bikes don't get enough attention or aftermarket parts I have the vetra and have been slowly modifying it and it is an amazing bike. It's not only reliable but stupid fast. I only turned down the ultrabee because of the size, it's huge and heavy. Don't get me wrong it's nice though.
Hard to beat an ultrabee really, they got it right. The things I don’t like about the ultrabee are pretty few. The belt drive isn’t bad but it’s unnecessary these days. The size and weight is a drawback to me but it’s great for larger riders. Brakes are awesome and tons of aftermarket support. The Altis just missed on almost everything. I’ve got lots of videos on the xe pro s enduro. I’m loving it so far. I’ve had zero issues out of it and I beat the snot out of it. As with anything it’s not perfect but I really do like it.
Great video! I switched to an Ultra Bee from a Yz450f and have zero regrets
I also love the quite and the lack of maintenance of the e-bikes. I bought a Surron Ultra bee in march 2024. 3.100 km. Only tires change and oiling and adjusting the chain. That´s all. And yes, if you ride hard enduro, the battery lasts more. And I don't need a clutch at all. It's even easer to drive a bike without it.
Ultra bee is such a great bike! So fun. I bought the R (road legal) and it came with 19/18. I put it road tires and its such a great bike to commute & go anywhere!
Have to slightly disagree with this I will smoke any of my ultra bee times on my Komodo on a tight track even more tbh so I can’t take this seriously to be honest Komodo short wheel based and for me personally way more nimble on tight track then the ultra bee and I have 21/18 on both bikes
They stop the forks legs hitting the frame when turning. You can buy upgraded versions that are slimmer aswell! I’ve just chopped mine down for the time being 😂
So tire wise, if you don’t run 27-30psi always in the rear, the tube will slip 100%. I always make sure I’m at around 28-29 psi before I go no matter what, and I’ve never broke a tube after 2k milws
I have the same miles at this point in time. Fair warning, the factory DC to DC converter is only capable of about 5 amps I believe. I know because, I tried putting on a 65w/95w lo/hi off road LED in the front, and it enters protection mode where the bike briefly flashes on and off. I ordered an upgraded DC converter off AliExpress for around a hundred USD. It claims to be bolt in and handle 120w continuous 150w peak output. Otherwise you could probably retrofit a universal one. While I'm waiting I just have a lithium 12v power sports battery stuffed under the seat :) Just worth noting if you upgrade your headlight. The stock headlight is great for stealth use, has good intensity, but it is just way too narrow and you can't see your surroundings compared to a modern wide angle off road LED setup. Cheers from USA mate
Awsome video, it makes me want to take my UB out and ride trail 4 myself this weekend! I have a sneaking suspicion we like to ride the same trail up 8th street…”Humpty” is a great single track extension for that ride and I have found my UB to have plenty of range to make it. Super cool to see another Ultra Bee enjoyer riding the great trails this area has to offer! Instantly subscribed hahaha
Im short , 60kg, 60yr old, and withered from cancer, but i find the ULTRA to be very easy to manover around traffic, and throw around in the bush , the X9000 controler is worth the upgrade just for reverse mode in the bush and around town , let alone tuning every aspect of the bike precisely. My ultra has a heavier battery , and bigger motor(XUB80), with a steel carry rack (for a spare 82volt battery for long journeys, but havent needed to carry my spare yet). This brings the bike weight up a few more kilos without the spare battery . Get one if you can afford it . My range one battery 200kms .
If you have the pocket change , drop an XUB80 motor in it , with a X9000 controler and a 82volt battery . You will love it . Im 60yr old 6okilo body wright on 40-50kilowatt ultrabee . Australia . Perfect bike for me to time warp on .
I own both a KTM300 and an Ultra Bee. After getting the UB, my KTM lost its charm. I do mostly single track enduro riding like you do. My modifications are more subtle and cost effective. Namely Dirty Bike primary chain upgrade, 50 rear sprocket, bar risers, putting the rear tire on the front wheel and mounting a100-90/19 tire on the back and bark busters on handlebars. I was pleasantly surprised to find out how easy is to modulate the power of this bike, which was my main concern for not having a clutch. Also having a rear hand brake is a great help if you happen to stall on a steep climb. This is almost like having a cheater bike.
ultra bee might just be the best beginner bike, not too much power but enough for anyone. Good range, good ergo, storage and good size. Other bikes just feel too small if you're anywhere over 5'10.
I recently switched to the ultra bee coming from the Eride pro sr. Ultra bee all the way buy once be done. If you came from dirtbike you’ll love the UB
Hey hey! Sorry the way I said it sounded weird. It is a 50T. So far I'm happy with the battery and have no concerns about range for the type of riding I do... I am thinking about controller though just for the tuneability like you said. Also happy with the stock carbon belt drive. From what I understand watching other big channels the carbon belts are really hard to break.
I baught 1 of these sh!t boxes. They are rubish. 3 days after i got it the regen and headlight stiped working. Ive owned it a month and for 3 weeks of that month its been in for repairs. Sad part is the dopes have no idea whats wrong with it and keep handing it back broken. I will be calling the ombudsman soon.
Very good recap of the SUB. I have 2, 23’ and 25’ both are set up similar to the SUB you reviewed. I’ve been fortunate to have owed several trail and motocross bikes, the SUB outfitted with the wheel set upgrades, good tires and a few enhancements is an excellent trail bike.
Your lifting the front on a stock 2025 going 45mph? I have the v3 x9000 and cant lifting it at 30mph wonder if I have something wrong ? Im getting 70 plus mph but not as torquey after 25ish imo
@SparkyUnknownye ye I feel u, I normally throw it into sport if I’m wheelieing above 30mph just cause it’s easier to keep up
I have the 25 and it def wants to lift up when i full throttle on Daily something not adding up maybe the cold is a factor I weight 280 lbs and wants to throw me off on daily everytime
then sum wrong because my 2024 ub can pop it up at 25 in daily
Im not sure I agree with you on tires, my cst lasted about 7k miles with burnouts and everything and you never mentioned why they are bad
In daily I can lift up at like 25-30mph no problem lmao. And sport mode obviously it’ll lift up at 40-45mph no problem, but I don’t like doing that often as it’s sketchy slow wheelies maybe 10-15mph are my favorite
In a few situations I missed having a clutch when riding technical single track and hard enduro. Greasy logs where particularly challenging. Turning off throttle regen (E=0) was the solution to that and I haven't looked back since.
I’m not a gas guy (or at least I didn’t start on gas) and I agree with all of your points except technical terrain without a clutch. While it helps ease your mental load in some scenarios, it is sorely missed when trying to find traction or loading the fly wheel. I love everything about my Ultra Bee. Wouldn’t mind if it was 180 lbs, it has landed on top of me a couple of times now and at 210 the dry weight is a bit more than I’d like. Alas, a ktm250 sits at the same weight class but it has a long wheel base and more suspension travel.
Yup electric dirt bikes are phenomenal and extremely capable, been Riding Surrons for 4 years now, the light bee was fun, the Storm bee full size dirt bike was a beast I now ride an Ultra bee ( about the same of the XE ) and I ride with a group of 300s 2 strokes and never feel handicapped and yes I have a second battery to for hot swaps but in reality you get a solid 4-5 hours of Hard Enduro on one battery,.......time for you to get a Stark Varg on the channel for a long time review, love to see that, keep up the good work brother.
While it’s true that it feels a bit weird to not have a foot brake if that’s what you are used to, you have MUCH more control with a hand brake than with a foot brake. Your feet can now be in any position and you can still use the brake effectively. ..and as noted for the Surrons there are foot brake mods if you really want one. @Spitescorner mentioned he wishes there as a regen thumb throttle— 100% agree! I have one on a Light Bee and it’s awesome, miss it on the Ultra Bee. For downhills it’s a game changer, I rarely have to touch the actual brakes.
I would love to see him compare a 21/18 ultra bee vs the zero. Took my UB to the mountains of Colorado with some gas bikes and it was a blast— the insane torque was amazing for hill climbs.
I also have an UltraBee and I really like it. Great for tighter/technical riding. Im not even getting close to 35 miles… Agreed about range. Hopefully in another decade we can get 2-3 times the range.
You would love the 25’ Ultra Bee!!!!! I absolutely love mine with a spare battery and I can ride all day!
Swappable batteries is a boondoggle in my opinion. It really doesn't help unless you're riding MX or short loops. Extra batteries are expensive and you need to circle back to staging to swap them out. I just want more capacity. Happy to take the hit on weight and initial price. Getting to the point where we can do a healthy full day of hard riding (~70 miles) on a charge is where the e-moto will really take off I think. I've got an Ultra Bee and can get ~35 miles. Which is decent. And fun. But I've really gotta plan my day around it - and it's less miles than I'm capable of doing.
I have the Ultra Bee. Ride old man line in hare scrambles, but mostly really love single-track, woods riding. Ride with good gas riders, everywhere, even class A challenges. Required upgrade? Lowered foot peg brackets. Do this first. Next, 21" on the front. I get 20 miles out of battery running hare scrambles. I can get 30 ish if I am not competing, woods plunking. My gas buddies are envious my bike is effectively 50 solid pounds lighter. (Most people forget the weight of gas in the equation) This bike is a very capable and fun "real" option to dirt riders.
@fendemmcops don’t care to much as long as your aren’t being to stupid I mean I ride mine everyday
urron Ultra Bee is shit. My friend and I bought Ultra Bees 2 years ago. We are in our sixties and we wanted a light weight quiet bike to ride for fitness and fun. My bike has only done 600 kilometres and my friends bike has done only 250 kilometres. Surron says the batteries will last 1500 charging cycles. My friends bike battery has only done about 5 to 6 charging cycles and now the battery is completely dead, unable to be recharged. My battery has done 12 to 15 charging cycles and now it dies once the soc gets below 30%. We paid $10,000 for these machines, that have done little work, and now they are useless. It is extremely difficult to contact Surron and the Australian dealers don't want to help or have anything to do with us. Do not waste your money and buy these bikes. The bike itself seems okay but the batteries are cheap crap, and the battery is the main component.
@davidbabbitt106only 20-25miles in the hard run conditions. Little less than stark gets
I sold my ultra bee for this. Insane difference not even close to the power of the ventus because of how light it is
I went with the Ultra Bee on a motocross track, and compared it to YZF250. The laptime difference was like 3 seconds. Surprisingly capable, very fun to ride. However the suspension was bottoming out and when I pushed a bit more the bike just turned off all of a sudden, probably because of the side stand going down either landing a jump or just during high speed over bumps going through a compression.
All of these are pretty important features. The ready button prevents someone from just mashing the throttle accidentally and the bike go flying forward. The ABS helps in wet conditions and snow. The traction control is for sand and works very well In my experience and can be turned off in 2 seconds. Your point doesn’t stand strong
i second the first reply, Ultra bee was the best decision i ever made. After fully modding it came out to a little more than an EX for me but ive beat every stark varg ive raced so far
@user-xl8sp8ir8jI just don’t use turbo and keep it in daily mode most of the time, 11.5kw is enough for me lol. And, when I’m crushing I put it into eco mode always to save battery. I get 30-40 miles going from 90-50% also which is great
It’s a great bike that’s for sure, I sold my gen 1 xxx for an ultra bee but got to ride the 8kw xxx pro, and it rips 🔥 way more power than the stock one and still has that great snappy throttle tune
@hansolo3097 i have a fully upgraded ultra bee. going over 50mph on these e-moto bikes is sketchy af, they are too flexible and light for those speeds. being proud of a top speed riding a dirt bike is pretty funny. get a supersport bike.
The ultra bee works everytime I ride it. They seem to have way too many problems.. but I want one really bad. Change my mind!!
Agree! I tried some different combos of asr + more aggressive throttle tuning but i never liked the feel of any of it. For jumping and trail I found 1st throttle setting and no asr at all is good.
Find it a bit contradicting that you say the 23-24 ultra bees just didn’t have enough power, but then go on to say you almost never ride this one in sport mode and daily is usually sufficient. If imagine a 23 or 24 in sport is the same as the 25 in daily no? I find my 23 has plenty of power in sport mode for almost every trail riding scenario and I’m coming from a CRF450. All that being said, I do have a V3 X9000 on the way to be able to run a bit more power and have a little more tuneability…
Love my ultra bee. Ride with (much younger, better) gas bikes in tight single track. I don't believe there is anything that would keep this bike from going anywhere the others go (maybe, maybe 30 miles single track is as far as you can go, though.) Am I as fast? No. Does that bother me? No. Top young, ultra fit and competent rider took it for a ride this past weekend and had a huge smile on his face when he came back. (He rode it in sport, I only use daily mode!) He said he just wheelied over everything. Oh, and I have been using A2 traction control setting -- it's cheating in many cases. Putting a JX8 on for hare scrambles this fall! One word that might help others. The Ultra Bee is competent.
Bought two about 3 months ago. Totally worth it
Great video! You have confirmed what I am learning about my bike. I got the 2025 Ultra Bee standard edition. I didn't want to spend the extra $ just to have a button that boosts me to 21 kWh for 10 seconds. Coming off a Husqvarna FE 250 dirt bike, the lighter weight Ultra Bee feels so good yet still is fully capable of handling the type of off road riding I do. Now I just need to upgrade to the 21" front.
I have the new 2025 Ultra Bee standard model. I rode it hard out in the desert a week ago over rocky single track. At the end of the 13 miles I still had 71% battery. This bike will surely get more than 20 miles.
I have an SR with KTM 85 suspension on it as well as an ultra bee and I gotta say I the SR feels much more playful, fun for stunting etc, but the rear suspension on the UB just takes it to another level when off-roading. Also, the lack of a long seat on the SR sucks it really is my biggest gripe with the bike by far.
How the “F” are you only @ 70 thousand Subscribers? You have such a Great Channel. I’ve had a SurRon since 2018. Got sucked in on the METACYCLE but haven’t had any problems, it’s heavy and not much power. But it’s quiet and fine for around town. Just got a STARK EX. Waiting for my WARP9 17” Wheels/Tires and a 1” drop link. I’m 83 years old and don’t plan much off road use. Now that I have the Stark I’m thinking, hmmm, maybe I should have bought one (or two) of the new crop of EBIKES. I’m widowed so I’m able to keep the bikes in the house in winter. I’m thinking about knocking out the wall between the Mud Room and Living Room. Replaced one set of steps with a ramp and now it’s a straight line into the Mud Room. LIFE IS GREAT!
@ElectrixMoto I rode 25 miles of steep single track (1/2 downhill obv) yesterday and was at 55% at end of ride. i would say 1/4 of that was in eco and remainder in daily. Sport is too much for the way I ride. So extrapolate that and you could get 40-50 miles on single track riding non-aggressively.
It’s not a motorcycle, it’s an E BIKE 👍 I have a surron ultra bee, and I ride it more like a bicycle than motorcycle I rarely use the road to go from place to place. That’s cause going slow gets you better range than going fast, opposite of a gas bike.
I upgraded the crap out my UB and also just got a x9000 controller and 80 amp hour battery. 20 more lbs but now I'll have more of the range I will want for my uses. That range cost me another $4k though. Now it's "perfect" for an ebike. Still doesn't replace a gasser for other needs.
Nice Review. Proud Ultra Bee owner. Can't see myself going back to a gas dirt bike ever again. That said, I own a DRZ400SM because on the street, the electric bikes just aren't fast enough or have enough range. Actually, "range anxiety" is very real and even on the trails it can be limiting. But for me, the trade off of a maintenance free riding experience is worth it.
@Loki-rascalThis is a play bike, not designed to compete with a gas full size bike. It’s a lightweight fun bike to hit trails and jumps. There’s bigger bikes on the market too, I have an Ultra Bee that’s slightly smaller then a full size moto and the thing hauls ass through the single track. For trail riding the electric bikes are way better, easier to ride fast and zero maintenance.
Yes regen is great I run regen 3 on my ultra bee
just got mine and it was going 75mhp but i am 140 pounds so idk
Ride on some dirt to break in the tires. Bike looks sick. Would definitely get wider foot pegs.
Done 1.000 miles now on my ultra bee. Road model, to commute.. men, its so good in traffic, so nimble, powerful, good brakes, good tyres. What a bike, and i came from hondas cbr, slr & cb.
As for you comments on the surron. I have just got myself an Ultra bee, obviously nothing compared to the stark, but as a rider that only weighs 135 pounds, it's an awesome bike for the slower technical trails i ride. Awesome to see the technology advancing. Can't wait to see what they're doing in another fee years
ultra bee cause i abuse it for a year and and its still works i didnt mod it nor did a daily just pure enduro abuse I didnt even really clean it that much Like 3-4 times i cleaned it but other than that i did nothing to make it good But even though i f ed it It still works like brand new
@TheAntManManyea it’s a great frame, same exact frame as the ss 1-3.0 and sr too. I still have it but now I rip the gen 2 ultra bee, 2025 👌 excellent bike after riding the pro s and getting comfortable on it, and going to the ultra bee, ultra bee is just so nice it’s built so well. Feels just top quality to ride I love it
Sounds like the UB needs to come with the 21/18 wheels stock and it works be a complete domination for the Surron. I've ridden a couple of them, and while there's really no comparing them to my Alta or Stark, I was plenty surprised how good they could be with a few mods. At $6500 though, I would save the difference and just get a 60hp Stark. I have an alpha and honestly anything above 60hp is basically unusable. I do like the idea of competition in the market and if you make innovations like the Zero with the transmission, then eventually it forces everyone to up their game.
I bought a 2025 ultra bee 2 weeks ago. COULDN'T BE HAPPIER... Haven't touched my KTM 450sxf since... Great bike nobody would be disappointed with the purchase that's for sure.
I think depends a lot on setup and rider weight. I have this bike and running 21/18 setup and weight around 225 lb w/ gear and get around 25 miles of single track riding.
I'm impressed but not enough to change my 2023 Ultra Bee. I'm against modding overall (for me) because I'm not well off and I have several bikes. The are only 3 mods that were worth it for me: A Kayo OEM 21" rim - far cheaper than western brands - fits perfectly. I don't think there's a need for an 18" rear for my purposes. Instead I put a Tubliss 19" system in the rear so I can run extreme low pressures. It makes wheel spin almost a thing of the past. It makes the UB climb like a mountain goat. Full wrap hand guards. My style of free ride, off trail, off road results in a lot of low speed tip overs and tumbles. The flag style hand guards won't take much punishment. I already think the 2023 UB is fast enough. I'm a slow technical rider so there's more than enough power for me.
Really curious to see battery life. presently I rode my 2023 ultra 15 miles 3K elevation climb single trac used 50 %, then I rode my new 2025 ultra same route same distance result used 50%. So was a little disappointed that it was not a little more. Fitz
the looks are good but the sqeekin noise would drive me crazy ;-))
@solominded i have a light bee x 2 of my friends have talarias stings they make so much noise same milage and brakes dont work when I sit on it suspension is so trash compared to talarias and my surron is still perfect after 3500 kilometers.
@TheWithoutLawManI get about 50 miles on mine
My 25' is the same way. Solid T in sport....???
i have a 2025 and i can ride mine in turbo full time
My turbo button turns off and its always on. Don't know how I unlocked it.
It's cheaper, lighter and more playful. For MX, definitely get a Stark, but for trail riding it really depends what you're going for.
Also, front and rear is a lot stiffer than the old 23-24 bikes
On my 25 ultra bee, T mode when I go into sport, is always active. It’s just a solid light in sport and goes off when I leave sport, or if I double tap the reverse button. It could be a tune special to my bike? But it is still wild and I normally stay in daily or eco on my smaller single track trails by me
I have a modded ultra bee. And a modded light bee and a Ventus one. The little bikes are no where near the ultra bee. They bounce around and are really fun for what they are but the ultra bee is in its own class. If you’re looking for an electric dirt bike that feels more like a gas bike the Ultra bee is where it’s at. 100% the best bike out of the box and modified. After owning and riding every other emoto out there the only bike I’ve never sold was the ultra bee.
Aloha! Do you have an rtr to compare it with? I wanted a hyperbee but the power turned me away. Ended up buying the rtr. 8kw is plenty of power. I ride it faster than my Ultra bee which is always in eco. Is the power to weigh ratio why it feels so fast? Wish more people had these. Surronster seems to be delaying posting about this bike. Apparently illegal rides draw more views. Smh
@rubendelgado5010 e ride tops out at around 70mph, my bike the 25 ultra tops out at 60. It’s definitely limited though, as it continues to pull until like 55 then I feel it slow down all at once, so with a controller ultra bee will destroy the sr easily. I don’t really care about top speed though, I just love the geometry of it and the range of the 74v 60 battery, and that I can pop it up at 45mph with just throttle lol
In my opinion, small bikes are fun, but the cockpit on the UB is so much better. 18/21, ODI flight FMX bend bars, and drop pegs, chef kiss. And I'm rocking a '23 12.5kw UB. The 2025 UB is dope! I've built and still ride a lot of small frame bikes, but none of them feel like the ultra. If you're in the market for a small bike, they are awesome! Not going to lie. If you're on the fence go Ultra Bee. Ultimately, the best bike is the one you own and love to ride. This market changes so quick that nothing will remain on top for long. I ride enduro, woods, and single track where the UB shines!
@ there is no denying the weight difference. It’s not as bad as one would think though. The suspension on the varg just feels so much more premium. I think a more beginner rider should probably stick to the ultra bee though. It’s much more rider friendly and easier to ride in general but the potential is a bit less as you go up in rider ability. I have done plenty of endurance type of riding and the varg is plenty capable and I don’t get my ass kicked by the suspension. Sure I could put more into the ultra bee but unfortunately it will never feel as good unfortunately. Obviously it is rider dependent and some people will actually like the bee more and I could see why. Low speed it does great and requires less effort to ride. I think it is important to ride both before making a purchasing decision though since it is quite an investment.
I was glad to see you do an Ultra Bee review as I follow your reviews on the CRF250F. I'd be interested in your thoughts re: comparing the 2 x bikes as they are both play bikes somewhat in the same category. I've had an Ultra Bee for 1 year and can summarize how I'd compare it to my KTM 300 or HQV 150. - The UB is really good in tight or technical sections as it's significantly lighter and more nimble; it will hold it own in 1st - 3rd but the gas bikes wheelie away 3rd - 6th. (The power curve flattens out a lot so the bike is better in tight vs open terrain) - The bike needs bigger tires or, ideally, an 18/21 setup to fully realize it's potential and minimize wheelspin - Range differs based upon terrain, etc. but you can expect ~ 20 miles in Sport, ~ 30 miles in Daily, and up to ~40 miles in Eco. I routinely get 30-35 in Daily mode on tight singletrack. - The Ultra Bee is better in the woods whereas the Stark is MUCH better on the track - The suspension on the Ultra Bee is okay, but not great compared to Showa, WP or Kayaba. It's better at slower speeds but will handle small to medium jumps or do fine on a Vet style track The Ultra Bee is, as you stated, a great beginner bike but really fun for more advanced riders also.
No, only SS 3.0 2.0 have to much issues, 3.0 is much better I owns SS 2.0 an Ultra Bee
Hehehe 😂😂😂😂😂😆😆😆🍆🤏🍆🤏🫵🫵🫵🫵🫵😆😆😂😂😂 same mine even put mega 110/100-19 tire on it and had to shave the shit off one side of the tire because knobbie
Live and ride in SE Utah. Have Ultra Bee, E-MTB, and gassers of all sizes. The Ultra Bee is my favorite to ride. They are incredible. Hats off to FortNine for the top shelf production. Nice work Gents.
2k miles on stock ultra bee belt, running 40kw
5k into my 2WD electric fatbike.....it only goes 35mph 😅
Yeah it’s definitely super wacky not hearing the engine but I got used to it pretty quick. They’re so cool tho I’m excited to see where technology takes them
@TTp2630electric bikes don’t replace gas bikes, they don’t come close. When it comes to riding it wherever tf you want, pretty useable. That’s why I own both an ultra bee and an mt-09 👌 I can ride offroad day and night, and ride super fast on the street
Mann bs ultra bee is way better and I own a ultra bee light bee n talaria sting ultra bee is a fucking beast all you have to do is get a tag but I mean I ride all 3 of mine anywhere I want to go without a tag only been pulled over once and it was just to get a picture of the bike but if you think there is ever a time you would let your gf ride on the back or ride anywhere on a highway or anywhere the speed limit is above 40 the ultra is the only one id recommend the other 2 dont have enoigh power n i like the suspenion feels like n actual dbike n can wheelie good ash the talaria has the worst suspension out of the 3 it's a bumpy ass ride n you feel every bump in the road. Also in my opinion before I got my ultra bee I felt like both the bikes just didn't have enough power kinda was kinda disappointed until I found the ultra but I've been riding for years n daily drive a ninja anyway love all of em just my opinion if you don't believe me check my yt. 👇
@crosstrainingenduroAwesome! I'm running 40hp(usually at 20hp for trail riding) on my ultra bee with a bigger 6.5kWh battery and aftermarket Torp controller. Also 18/21 wheels. It's kind of halfway between the Varg and stock Ultra Bee both price and performance wise. Range is at or better than the Stark though
@mikem9953 As you say if youre looking for range it wont be what youre looking for. But riding "around the lake, campgrounds, beaches, little cottage roads + some trails" is what its meant for in my opinion. Sometimes watching all these youtube channels can be a bit deceiving, cause ive noticed i get quite alot more range than most, and its because im not as fast or going wide open alot of the time wich is a big battery drainer. I´ve gone almost 60miles on one charge where as most channels claim they barely get 40. But it sounds like it fits what youre looking for. I do recommend buying a 18/21 wheel setup though, cause the 19/19 front end wants to slip away underneath you at times which i found pretty scary. I cant choose for you, but i can definitely recommend the Ultra Bee! Good luck in deciding!
Well noted, I was also a bit surprised to hear ECR use a Stark for comparison. That's a really long bow to draw, and if someone was doing genuine research from this video, a Stark isn't what I would call a fair 'apples for apples' comparison. I've done the throttle change to the Surron (plug and play) and a nice DiD X Ring chain, geared up the rear sprocket. The bike has taken a reasonable amount of punishment, in tight single track riding. Yes, the battery gauge is not to be relied on, use the BMS App for accuracy. Stock suspension is fine for trail riding, I'm 90kg. My controller is the Chitu, no issues with cut outs. No, it's not a Stark Varg....neither is an Ultra Bee, or any Surron product. Yes the lead times require patience. The communication experience i had was reliable, consistent, which i was initially concerned about when committing to order (via Trade Assurance order on Ali Baba). Stating the copyright vs Freeride? Another well-known aspect of Chinese manufacturere i would have thought, not sure what motive there is in even mentioning that....I really value the ECR content, and remain an appreciative viewer. However I do find this review to be not entirely representative of the bike, its capabilities, and 'bang for buck' position in the electric motorcycle domain. Just my 5 cents of opinion. Enjoy your riding✊️
@Epig420 The battery and motors are actually pretty good it's all the rest that is poor quality. The wheels brakes the sensors and every single bearing does not last very long. I speak of experience.
The chassis are ok. It's every thing else that fails. At least on the light bee. Brakes dont even last a full ride where we ride. Suspension is terrible and difficult to find replacement parts because there are several different ones. The Jack shaft is a terrible concept prone to failure. The wheels become all loose prematurely . The neck bearing fails so fast that it ovalised the neck. And dont start me on all the stupid sensors! I mean if you change all these things yeah it makes a ok bike but you will have spent the same amount of money that a better tough out stock bike like the electric motion or a stark varg costs. At the end you still have a chinese bike that worths half of what you spent on it. @surronzak8154
I have my surron for 3 years now, 16000km enduro, some DH, some jumps some races, chassis holds up very welle as does the motor, running 15kw on it. I'm really impressed by the sturdiness of this bike considering what she eats
@wheels.3239 I'm pretty fat too at 220lbs. Getting the Bombers and Voncat shock helped balance the bike out more. I don't really do jumps, but I do ride hard Enduro and I've had zero issues with reliability. The thing just keeps going. I'd really suggest either picking up a 16" wheel for the back and running 16" and 19" or 18" and 21". The stock wheels and tires aren't that great, but having a fat ass Dunlop MX33 on the back is night and day for trail traction.
Just stumbled upon your review. Funny and valid! I picked up the ultra about 60 miles ago from a local dealership.… after riding it… I wish my boss would fire me so i could ride it more. Lol 😂 now if i could find a way to plate it…I’d be ecstatic. But, nonetheless, insanely fun machine, even for heavy riders!
I was happy when I saw you published, but man was I happier when I realised it was about Surrons! The thing is these bikes are light, silent and powerful. I ride them on the trails and on the track, so much fun and efficiency. Add to that a near zero maintenance and you now the future is now 🎉
Had a light bee for a year and upgraded to an Ultra. The quality, power and suspension difference is huge. Definitely the better route than modding a light bee.
Rode a Su Ron at a motocross track. It was absolutely asweome! I'm pretty tiny, made it like i was a real person riding a "big motocross bike"
Amen! Ridden all the Surrons.. the ultra bee is the most fun i have had! awesome machine
I absolutely love the Ultra bee, so much fun out in the woods, not to light and breakable as the Lightbee but not too heavy to throw around when getting stuck etc. Great Video! Cheers from Sweden!
Bought a light bee couple of weeks ago, these things are crazy! 😀
I'm glad Fortnine is showing the ultra bee! Those things are super cool. I have the lightbee with pretty much every upgrade you can get for it and runs slightly better than an Ultra be now which I'm stoked about :D
@DJS_ENO Two hours? lol, easy. If it's very rough terrain, I start to hate myself after about 7-8 hours. I'd hate lugging a big heavy bike around in rough terrain a lot more. Mine has a seat, but it's basically useless, even on a paved road your ass will hurt if you use it very much.
This is why I went with an ebike. I got mine used for $1400 and spent about $300 on upgrades and maintenance. Yes, I could have almost gotten an XR150L new or a used CRF125 for not much more. But I can ride the ebike on city paths for errands or for fun. It can fit in my car or on the bike carrier for driving to trailheads. It's slower than a dirtbike but can do all the same things. And if the battery dies I just pedal it. It weighs less than a dirtbike so I can do riskier lines and not worry about getting crushed by hot exhaust if I fall.
I ride an Ultra Bee and that thing feels amazing. I never was fully satisfied with the Light Bee, regardless of tuning and upgrades unless you just replace everything including the frame. And Ultra isn't going to replace the KTM EXC for hard enduro or SX-F for motocross, but for everything but the gnarliest stuff it's just incredible.
after owning an electric bike, then a surron and now a motorcycle: It just depends on what and where you can ride. All are great fun, e-mtb-s are awesome for big mountains where you can go up and downhill, surrons are amazing but the LB-s are too weak for a propper MX route without all the power mods. And then if you just want to be able to go to a city 200km away, just get a petrol bike. Have fun, be safe and dont destroy mtb trails ;)
My friend bought a Surron. He also has a 500ktm and he is faster on the surron. But he’s also not a very good rider so I think the surron is way less intimidating than the ktm. I rode the surron and it’s not terrible, I won’t be trading in my husky for one but they do work. I thought a lot of the parts looked kinda cheap though, He bent the front wheel on its first ride. Be interesting to see how the bike holds up long term. He’s into it 9k after the wheel situation which is a lot compared to the price of a gas bike that has better suspension and likely way better parts availability
my stock surron x 2023 can def pop a wheelie with nothing but throttle its how i do mine mind you i am still learning lol
I gotts to stick with surronda but, I do like the bigger brakes since my bike is heavier and faster than stock
