0:18 Exactly :) These lightweight e-motos tick all the boxes: lightweight, agile for technical riding, capable of wheelies, high top speed, and great acceleration. I have a Talaria MX3 (not the XXX); it’s comparable to the older Sur-Ron LBX—just a bit heavier than the original LBX, though the new LBX weighs exactly the same as the MX3. The Talaria has the edge because it uses a sealed gearbox rather than a belt drive, which could snap out on the trail. Sure, the gear oil needs changing every 1,000 km, but that’s a quick job to do at home; I’d much rather change it frequently than have a belt snap in the middle of the woods and have to push the bike all the way home—which would take half the day. That said, I believe the older LBX is even more agile thanks to its geometry. 14:23 KNIFE ??? I think that’s a utility knife in his right hand—the one that was in his pocket. You made a really good decision to leave right then and there, because it could have cost you your life if he’d cut you with that—especially since people like that don't even feel pain when they're high. He probably confronted you just to threaten you—since he could easily have done something much worse from behind without being noticed—but he was scared shitless himself. 15:48 Use protective gear that can be worn over street clothes!
I have a tuned Talaria Sting, its not as fast as the Stark but its soooo light:) When I ride hard trails, and find some part I cant ride I just get off and carry her about.. That is a big plus :)
I have the talaria mx3 with a nucularcontroller and im pushing 100km on a 60v battery with the 17" moto wheel set
I have a Talaria Sting, not a replacement for a real dirtbike. Despite the rubbish suspension, lack of power and range It is fun to ride, it is easy to load on a hitch carrier. The best part is you can ride spots that would get you hassled or arrested on a gas bike.
I would say ventus or altis, also I personally have a talaria mx3 and it rides pretty well
I have both and mx5 mx3 is better it’s more robust. Also if you want to upgrade battery it’s easier the xxx has that goofy chassis battery. This bike also goes faster then the xxx but I fell a bit slower accelerating but I also have big Dunlop’s on that and moto on that xxx MX5 Is way better than both.
12 miles and being at 24% is so trashy and ass
@kevin-vx9dc Yeah I gotchu. The E Ride and the Talaria are both great affordable options in my opinion. I like the look of both bikes and they are both around the same size. I personally went for the E Ride since it comes stock with a 72 volt battery that will work with many 72 volt upgrades. If you plan on just doing light trails and street riding the XXX is great. Something that no one tells you is that my S model (not the ss 2.0) came with the SS 2.0's front suspension and not the kke that E Ride has on their website. It is the same exact frame as the 2.0 as well as it has a 8kw peak rather than the 6 kw peak that E Ride shows on their website. I have no clue why they havent updated their website to match what their owners manual says but yeah. Having said this most aftermarket parts that I have found such as the X-9000 controller that are made for the SS 2.0 are actually compatable with the S because of the same frame. I would go on GritShift and check out what they got for both of the bikes because thats where I mainly look. Another shocking thing that I found was that the motor on the S is the exact same one as the SS 2.0 but the S's controller is limiting its power to only let it go 8kw. Now when I get into the XXX it was one of the options I was looking into because I liked how it didn't look like a Surron and I could ride it pretty much everywhere. The thing I didn't like was how to remove the battery and how the whole bike would handle on the crazy trails that I had planned. However the XXX has a lot of different aftermarkets everywhere and that is definetly a plus if you are looking for more power or customization in the future. Having said all this I am kind of biased and not biased because I have rode literally every E Moto out there (E Ride Pro S and SS, Talaria MX3, MX4, XXX, and MX5, Rawrr X, Surron LBX and Storm Bee). I have the perspective of a trail rider who likes to really push my bike to the max. I chose the E Ride Pro because of the frame and the extra power and potential for far more for far less. It all comes down to personal preference and what you want because you must form your own opinion and be happy with what you get. Might I ask you, are you planning on using it like a dirt bike or street bike? If dirt consider the MX4 because I thinks its like 3600 on Luna right now. Let me know and hope this helps a little.
@jasper_of_puppets ya thays true I know guys running 12 to 18 kw on aurrons amd the bike is now like 160lbs. Part of the fun of these bikes is the light fluckability of them. I have a talaria sting originally like 158lbs and with my upgrades idk how much heavier it is now not much but Def less light and playful. The added weight does have its benefits tho.
I just got a mx3 a few months ago. About 700 miles now. It's too fun!
They get about 30 miles on a charge its decent mine was half dead when we started riding today…
In eco mode, i usually get 50+ miles, in sport mode, maybe 20-30
It was about 7 miles mostly in sport mode, and off road. It does really good in Eco mode. I rode about 30 miles whole trip mostly in Eco mode, and was at 67% charge when i was done 🤟
Mann bs ultra bee is way better and I own a ultra bee light bee n talaria sting ultra bee is a fucking beast all you have to do is get a tag but I mean I ride all 3 of mine anywhere I want to go without a tag only been pulled over once and it was just to get a picture of the bike but if you think there is ever a time you would let your gf ride on the back or ride anywhere on a highway or anywhere the speed limit is above 40 the ultra is the only one id recommend the other 2 dont have enoigh power n i like the suspenion feels like n actual dbike n can wheelie good ash the talaria has the worst suspension out of the 3 it's a bumpy ass ride n you feel every bump in the road. Also in my opinion before I got my ultra bee I felt like both the bikes just didn't have enough power kinda was kinda disappointed until I found the ultra but I've been riding for years n daily drive a ninja anyway love all of em just my opinion if you don't believe me check my yt. 👇
That means that my talaria came unlocked? It went 70 kmp on sport right away
I’m 6’7” and it looks small when I’m riding it, but I feel decently comfortable on it compared to dirt bikes I’ve ridden
It seemed like it didn't work on mine so I cut the wire and installed a switch, which worked. However I've noticed now that I can input the code with power going through the wire and it will work, so seems like after a certain amount of time it unlocks. Also for the first 5 miles or so the regenerative braking didn't work at all, and I had it on the 4th setting. Then out of nowhere I let off the throttle and almost lost the back wheel from under me.
I do 15 miles from my house to the city every night and have 88% left . Flat ground ! Not off road lol! Off road my bike does die a lot faster to
If you increase the size of the rear sprocket, you will lower the top speed. Mine has a 54t sprocket and the top speed is now 65. Wich in the netherlands only means you get a ticket. Right on the edge for me
Did not work for me. Followed it exactly. Followed along to the video as well and nothing. Sport mode still tops out at 50km hour.
@Skeldons power rage is very similar. I would say the Talaria still has way more torque though. I can hit a 5ft tall jump with only 30 or 40 feet of run up from a stop where the KX I have to already be in second or third gear with high rpm’s to get that speed / power. Big jump’s definitely feel safer on the KX just because of the beefier suspension, but I’m more comfortable on the talaria because of how easy it is to throw it around. I’m selling my KX after having the talaria for a few weeks.
I got a talaria sting and it's fun.. going to put better controller and battery so it goes faster
Thank you for this video. My talaria mx3 I can go 20 miles down to 40% and after that there is not much battery sag ....makes me not wanna upgrade to the R ill keep my mx3 and just keep upgrading
There are definitely pros and cons! I just look at it as the electric bike isn’t here to replace gas bikes—at least not yet. They serve different purposes and are both a lot of fun! I’d recommend getting one and seeing how and when you use it. I think you’ll be surprised how often you find yourself on it. I jump on mine at least once a day. Which wasn’t the case with my gas bike. That’s why I love it so much! Full day in the desert, mtns, track… take your gas bike. I’d your just wanting to rip around town, ride trails for a couple hours, or have a little pit track near you, take the electric.
My biggest complaint of electric is you can’t just fill a can and ride all day. And they are fairly limited in power and range with the potential to overheat. Buttttt. I can circle wheelie in the backyard with no complaints. You can ride on the golf course sidewalk and not ever got caught (I would never jump a sand trap or ride in the rough …) And zero maintenance compared to a 2 stroke. I just can’t wait til batteries are cheaper. Or we implement hydrogen fuel cells. Or nuclear power idk.
Dude. You are going to love it! And yes.. the trails here are really fun. I haven’t done any upgrades to the motor, controller, or battery. Just rippin her stock for right now. I’ll probably do the controller first though!
Not very much at all. Just at the very end when I got to 5% battery left.
Yeah I got it from a friend's shop. I got a good deal on it so I wasn't too worried. I'll get my hands on an R eventually--or I'll just do upgrades on this and not worry about it. The suspension has felt pretty good, I have yet to bottom it out even hitting decent sized jumps--but it's not Fox 40. Most the guys around here hitting big jumps are running 40s. I'll put some air in for sure and see how it feels! I'll definitely check out your videos 🤘
@vennomrides107 love it ! It's hard to stop upgrading, not cuz it has to be just cuz its fun! It's a nice bike sraight outta the box ! 4 months with mine and no issues
I did this and got an error 37 code the next day.. that code says it’s a problem with the throttle.. I replaced the throttle and it didn’t fix it.. I checked every connection and replugged them in .. and it still had error 37.. so supposedly my controller went bad that’s what I was told..
Just came Back from my first ride on Talaria. Pretty awesome!!! Going in the dirt and grass around the house was fun. A non expérience rider would have crashed it. Gonna try that "code" next ride.
i got this bike and the battery did not move side to side because i added some attachments, but before i added them the battery was out of place
My Talaria goes 30 on sport mode, and is super torquey off the line. Still, not terribly fast.
@Kyle99351 Yepp i've done it 2 and it worked ! Just have to be careful because the wire isn't always the same color (mine was brown but some are green, white or orange). The bike is so much fun now that its unrestricted
For the gearbox. I just did my first oil change at 200km. Only 50ml came out. It’s supposed to have around 100-120ml. So if you’re a potential buyer, check the gear oil when you get it.
@dervishlover oh I bet! I haven’t even tried to wheelie. Mine was more so going through the grass. I was just like this thing is going to fall apart right from underneath me.
Yea same 😅 everytime I braked and accelerated I would feel the battery shift which concerned me... Especially when trying to learn wheelies having the battery move really throws me off.
I would like to see a good Motocross rider try one of these out. From watching people ride these you can tell they ride it like an MTB. I rode one and treated it like a Dirtbike and it made a big difference. These things are awesome and I was impressed with ho long it lasted.
Glad you made this! There's currently no where this method is described. I bought one about 2 weeks ago and was super disappointed to find how slow it was, until I contacted the shop I bought it from and they revealed this method. Now it's faster in Eco mode then is was in sport before.
Mine did the same. Didn’t have to unlock anything
@nxdboi I think you like your Talaria too much, the torque is lacking and it's weak. When you pin the throttle it doesn't feel remotely close to a Sur Ron. After the first second there's no torque and it accelerates gradually in a manner that doesn't feel like a Sur Ron. I did feel a small improvement after a few charging cycles but it's nothing special. Feels a little more responsive on the higher end when I let off and "rev" it but it's still unlike the Sur Ron. Without SurRon there would be no Talaria to speak of... that's where all the $$$ came from, people who fell in love with that bike. I think the SurRons Eco mode might have more torque. I had the pleasure of unboxing 3 Sur Rons (One X260) and 1 Talaria in less than 1 year. I even upgraded my setup to 72v
After riding the new 2022 Sur Ron (KKE fork) and the new Talaria (RST fork) several times I can say Sur Ron all the way Battery wise the 38ah of the Talaria doesn't do much. It's a heavier bike, riding position is different, throttle response is different, eco mode on Talaria sucks Sport mode on Talaria gets a little more torque after 4-5 battery cycles like Ebikezilla mentioned, maybe with a 48t sprocket you'll get a bit of extra torque but the throttle response wont be the same as a Sur Ron The Sur Ron is simply tuned to near perfection at this point and when I ride I have the most fun with it The Talaria on the other hand is more comfortable to ride on bumps, I'd say it's a cruising vehicle if it would maintain that feel with Supermoto tires
My $6000 Talaria sting just broke. I put a video up, its sooo much money for the average person.
That’s what I’m hoping! Until my battery still gets me upside down 😝
@ronan9784 haha me being lazy? I do thee most maintenance then anyone that’s rides these bikes and i have one of thee cleanest Surron’s out there that actually rides only dirt. For sure not lazy at all, one of the perks of these bikes is not needed in to do fluid changes. Use common sense. The slope of the seat make trail riding worse, i rode one last week and ergonomics were terrible. Maybe one day you can afford one of these bikes 👍🏼
Hate the slope of the seat, after sitting on it, pushes you way too forward when you should be able to move around on seat. (This is why modern dirt bikes have a flat seat to move forward and aft while riding) Hate that the seat got raised but the bars didn’t, makes ergonomics feel awkward. Same headlight, forks, rear shock, brakes, sprocket bolt pattern, front tire as surron with a knock off eggrider that you have to hit start every time to ride and having to change gearbox oil every 500 miles is a let down. Having said all of that I like the wider frame/swingarm and the larger battery.
