My Arctic wouldn't even charge ended up tuning the BMS myself can't believe they actually fixed it
I definitely upgraded my Pro R brakes cause it kept squealing (I go down some 35 degree declines for over 1k ft). I upgraded to something with a larger pad size to prevent resonance. It obviously brakes better now, too.
Got mine from Voro Motors, mine was also MFG'd in 6/2026, this bike works great!! wicked fast in map 3! Whats your concern?
@LindenTigersYeah, gritshift fsrdriver tune ftw! Got mine to 89mph GPS verified and that's with knobbies, could probably get more out of it but 90 is more than ill ever need or use...
BMS reflash and better fardriver tune n my stock xe pro r does 85mph n 50miles range. Try getting those specs with a stock UB 😂
Love my xe pro r. A tune and it will do 90. Brakes are perfect shocks are okay. They do the job. Can send them out to get re valved and it’s perfect. Mode 3 is nuts
My arctic leopard xe pro r does 90mph n only cost me £3300 shipped off alibaba 😂 stock apart from the gritshift fardriver tune (free + takes 5 mins on phone) ...
@1F0_YT after 70km I am left with 10% right after I stop. And when the BMS settles it keeps rising and stops at around 25%. All I am saying is you should not trust those extra 15%, at least not with my bike - well tested :) And my record is 100km from 100% to 5% in 1st ECO mode the whole time (which is pretty strong for ECO)
@nealmathews2185 Well, what do you mean somewhere around 30 miles that the range drops below 20%... that doesn't make sense. Do you mean when you've ridden 30 miles you only have 20% left? Second, where did you get your bike? Have you done the BMS update? Are you riding trails with a lot of elevation gain? Are you riding trails with loose dirt and spinning the rear tire a bunch? Do you weigh more than 200 lbs? Because all of those things will shorten the range on the bike, no different than they shorten the range of a gas bike. I weigh 160 and have been riding easy to intermediate mountain single track and I'm getting anywhere from 40-110 miles depending on speed and trail conditions.
I have had my pro R for a while now. Of course, I'm not doing the kind of testing you are, just riding it on a straight flat road until it runs out. I ride mountain and Desert single track, and it's been somewhere around 30 miles that the range drops below 20% maybe even close to 10%, which makes me very nervous. This is nowhere near the range that I was expecting from all the hype! DISAPPOINTED SO FAR!
For anyone interested, I get 70km of real range out of XE PRO R driving purely offroad, driven semi-aggressively in mode 2 (mode 3 would be suicide with my noob skills and age). This is my average after BMS update. Note that deviation is 70km +/- 5km based on driving style and elevation. 100% to 0% would be more like 80 km, but I try not to drive to zero. I am smaller and lighter which also plays a role (~70 kg with gear) and I usually climb 1000-1500m per drive up and down back to starting elevation. The bike is absolutely great especially for smaller guys like myself. One more thing to note. Once you have 0-30% range and stop for few minutes, remaining battery capacity % increases significantly (for example from 10% to 25% or so). But this is mostly not real. I drove to 0%, then waited and it jumped to 10%, but could not drive even 1 km after that. So do not rely on that % increase towards the bottom end.
@GurusaLiam this bike has none of the lightning-bolt motif frame covering plastics everyone hated on early XEs, but the seat frame and later Vetra-style fender TB's bike has can still catch some boots. I have an early side plastics bike, never hated them or got stuck on them (6 foot, with 2020 Fox Comp MX boots), but one time i rode without my knee protection i had two pinch bruises from the top of my boot and the seat subframe on the top of my calf, so it was trying to get me and mostly missing, i guess.
@trailviewsyup. 6'1 here and with the riser bar mount it was fine. Have even just made some peg powering brackets using 4mm aluminium sheet offcuts cut and drilled to size (lowers them by about 1.5inche) but haven't really had chance to use it much since puttijg them on. But anyone under 6 foot should be A-OK with just the riser mount and better n bars (both warp9).
Nice video dude! Not sure why this vid only just came up on my algo cos I've had an XE Pro R for about 4 months and watched just about every video on em on yt since. Anyways my yz250 has been gathering dust since I got my pro R, I kinda feel abit guilty LOL. After 15 odd years riding mx this is my first emoto and was a kinda spur of the moment buy, and after a quick BMS reflash and the gritshift tune plopped into fardriver this thing is an absolute RIPPER, especially for it's size. Could NOT be happier, power wise is kinda rmeinds me of my old race tuned yz125, except it's about 70lbs lighter so way more nimble and obviously the power delivery is different (by different I just basically mean instant, instant acceleration and torque 😂). The emoto so good it literally needs no drive train upgrades, a better tune and you've got access to 85mph/50 miles range stock. Show me ANY other bike in this price range that csn do straight out the box (well...with just a fiddle with the tune anyway lol.) just needs some better bars, and a bar riser mount and youre golden. Bit busy atm but when I get the chance I'm gonna put the rofloxa r53 rear shock on, I'd go with the new sirris setup but I got my bike off Alibaba and that suspension set will probably be more than what I acrually paid for he bike total 😂 anyway it's only the rear shock that feels a bit squishy, I'll replace the rear ASAP but the KKE front forks are actually alot better than I expected. LOVE this bike! Will be changing the tires (also better than expected but still just chinese generics) eventually probably put on some pivotrax or Dunlap geomax's...both great knobbies so whatever I can get for cheapest, ha (along with some better inner tubes and rim locks too.) That's about everything I have planned for mine, I'll end up replacing the front forks eventually but not til I've got my moneys worth out of the stock ones. Mainly ride hard mx/enduro style so will also be getting the uprated triangle and rear linkage off gritshift (when tthey finally release it!). But drive train, brakes and wheels will all remain stock as I'm more than happy with those! Was a bit hesitant (as are most people who've ridden only gas bikes for years, honestly I couldn't be happier!! Thing came with absolutely no issues apart frome the BMS reflash (but that's a 5 min free fix) and even before the BMS update it never once give me a single issue or error code, nor has it give me any since! So glad I got this in the end - It's beyond fun!!!
There was a bms settings issue for very early bikes, including ours. We've had ours for a while before this video was posted. We flashed new settings and its been flawless since.
Interesting! And good to know. We have about 250 miles now and haven't had any issues.
Got mine to 85 GPS verified with the new very advisable gritshift tune, could get it even faster if I had a twiddle but 85 is more than enough for me 😂
@gpaull2yep I've got size 9 boots and don't find mine catching on the plastics at all..een though alot of tother people seem to mention it. So just depends really. if it's that bad buy a new pro r/vetra rear Fender so you can take teh plastics off. They're about 50 bucks. I got my pro r off alibaba a few months ago and they're sending me a new rear fender out for free after I had a whinge 😂
Not sure about yours, but mine came with to small of rear wheel bushings, they allowed dirt and water to go past the seal and destroyed my bearings after just 60 miles. I've also had water intrusion, causing the power to cut while riding. That was just from washing with a garden hose. Other than that, i love it.
I have the pro r, and never once thought about standing up on it.
I have the plastics on mine, I'm a size 9 and I've got drop pegs and don't find my boots catch at all, seems like alot of people mention it but it's never been a problem for me. My alibaba vendor is sending the newer R/vetra style rear fender so I can take the plastics off...althiugh tbh I don't mind em, like that they keep most of the frame protected from dings n scrapes from drops/falls lol. I just sprayed mine (and the batt cover) a more matte black colour to match the frame, don't mind the Z fairing itself but coudnt stand the cheap shiny look. But like I said you can get the vetra stye fender if yours comes with the plastics, they're about $50to buy but my alb vendor ar sending me one for free after I had a whinge hah. I'll proably keep it on for if I ever decide to sell it 😁
@Litclips_TV Yup, 100% agree. Mine cut out at 67mph in mode 3 straight out the box. With fardriver tune Ive managed 84mph (and could probably get it to 90 if i really wanted to, but 85 is more than enough lol) , both speeds gps verified. Gritshift fardriver tune HIGHLY recommended btw - not only is eco now actually eco, giving you a bit more range without having to actively think about restaining yourself PLUS you can finally use regen without brakes now too giving it even more range without the fear of the rear wheel locking up just when you don't want it to.. Call me biased but the lb2 doesn't stand a chance, in range or speed. These things were abit of a mixed bag at first, I got one of the very first ones off alibaba but luckily all it took to get it to max potential was the BMS fix and a better tune, both of which are free and fairly simple to do. And this was my first emoto too so I'm definitely no expert either. And it's not even like I had to update the BMS because it was throwing up e04 errors, the thing has never thrown up SINGLE error code not before the BMS fix, not after. I honestly couldn't be happier with it. Also my alib vendor is sending me one of the new R/vetra style rear fenders so I can take the Z fairing off if I want (not that Im probably going to, they don't catch on my boots like other people seem to keep mentioning) Plus I like how it protects the frame from when I drop it/fall off lt 😂, the only. Issue I actually had with the fairing was the shiny cheap looking finish, took the fairings and the battery cover off and spray painted them a more matte black colour to closely match the frame... Looks loads better IMO.
Have this bike and I like it. The only thing I don’t like is the stand up position feels too hunched. It needs the pegs lowered or the handle bars raised a good bit for someone above 5’10”
Love this bike! My KTM 450 ExC has been collecting dust since getting this bike. Super fun on trails
I have had my XE Pro R since mid June. Did the ANT BMS V2 update as well as the HEB file update. Lots of mods and custom tunes later, am pleased to say this is one beast of a bike. NO ISSUES so far. Everything works as it’s supposed to. No range issues either!
That’s basically how I ride and I consistently get 35 miles and 5k feet of climbing on Colorado trails with about 30-40% left at the end. As they said in the video, I’m pretty smoked at that point, so I don’t see myself needing much more range. Better for battery health to keep it above 20% too.
I have one and I love it! My own custom FarDriver tuned over several months. Two things you should do right off the bat: 1) change your gear oil right away 2) rubber mat the bottom of the battery cage since there is a raised bolt housing that could rub on the underside of the battery. I also added stem riser, Warp 9 bars, TMB lowering pegs, RiFloxa RAB 53 RV (550 lb) rear shock. Thanks 🙏🏻 for the video and enjoy that beast!!!!
I like my stock tune to be honest, mode 1 feel like a 110cc, it maxes power to 10kw. Mode 3 feels like a 300cc. I would suggest waterproofing your electrical connections, I've had problem with water getting in them after washing with a garden hose causing a ghost throttle. Scary.
Haha that’s awesome! I haven’t run it to zero yet, but I’m getting anywhere from 45-55 miles on a charge. Depends on how much climbing the trail has. We’re riding in a lot of mountains right now. But still getting over 45 miles on a charge.
Agree with the chasis and that R is overpowered. I drive R and the main reason why to get R are the breaks. You need two fingers to break on S, while just one on R. If they made a bike with R breaks and battery, with S engine - that would be my sweetspot!
Bro! I am same age (42), smaller and lighter rider AND with the same bike :) I drive in same terain like you in central Europe, altough fewer cows and more sheep.. I also turned down all the modes and regen too. 80% drive in mode 2; mode 1 just for slow single trails. Range 80 km (50 miles). What is your range?
I have the pro R, and was certainly hoping for a better range than I am getting , And more than you got . 30 to 35 miles into limp mode ,Still gives plenty of range anxiety for me. The hype on this bike right before it came out, led us to believe that we could easily expect 40 to 50 miles of aggressive trail riding. Yes, I did get the BMS update, but it sounds like the H-E-B file won’t help me any. Besides that, my biggest complaint with this bike is the cramped cockpit, and I’m only 5 foot 10. Even with my aftermarket riser bars and bar mount, and lowered foot peg brackets, it has me sitting on the very tail end of the seat, Whether I am seated or not. And goddamn, that end of the seat is Fu#$ing tiny! Rode my friends Ultra Bee For a mile or two, and although that bike was much heavier and doggy, I sure was jealous of the real seat that you could actually sit on.
Yeah she rips for sure. I beat my brother on his sx250 on mine. And I haven't even played with the fardriver yet either!
Love my Arctic Leopard XE PRO R! Had the BMS issue as well. Contacted Arctic Leopard they sent me a link to follow, built a few emotos prior to this so I am familiar with the FarDriver app and the BMS app wasn’t that bad. It’s really not a big deal, but I understand the dissatisfaction. The bike is just protecting itself to conservatively. First gen on anything you should know there will be a few quirks. The XE Pro R Rips, it’s a beast!!
@jeffreyanderson4249 mine does not do that at all. No vibration at any speed.
Nah the plastic quality is fine, got my pro r 2 days ago. It's the same exact fender I believe talaria have been using like..forever, so it's stood the test of time. Jist an injection moulded plastic fender like almost every other fender out there. It was the way he crashed that caused the break, IMO if you could recreate that exact crash over and over the fender would snap no matter what emoto you were riding...
Got my pro r this week, fender quality is fine. Standard injection molded plastic like every other fender out there. It's the same one I bekeve talaria have been using the exact same fender forever n IMO if you could recreate that exact crash again then any fender on any (e)moto would have also broken..
I got mine off alibaba for £3700 shipped. Cheapest UK retailers have em is for £5-6k. Love mine, got the BMS issue sorted now I get 85mph out of it + 50 mile range. It's a lie that alibaba bikes are faulty, they're ALL programmed like that. Just needs a firmware update which isn't hard to correct if you do your research.
No way you bought literally the ugliest emoto ever created. Man. I just got my pro R yesterday, it's an absolute ripper. Been riding mx for 20 years and this my first emoto. It leaves my ktm sx250 in the dust...
If you need to buy now, i'd go arctic leopard 880 exe, varg, or ultrabee. All depends on what you want to accomplish. XE pro r will be too small for you. Would be fun for around the yard/street etc. but not trails or moto. Best bet is to wait for Bonell 805 imho. Varg is more for moto and is kinda top heavy compared to my 880. I like my 880 for trails. My xe pro r is just a toy.
I live in CO and I’m getting about 32 miles by 50%. I’m doing some serious single track climbing in that mileage
@BlackwaterAquatics..true... maybe next year..RFN 15plus @ the moment awesome bike.crap battery range..I did enjoy my Rerode R1+... very reliable.. keep for 12months then I update
Привет, посмотрите на моем канале как я убрал пластик подрамника и установил под крыло pnd пластик 6 мм загнул феном и закрутил в штатные крепления и получилось очень крепко, при падении с вилли.Правда крыло бросает грязь на спину.
What you're seeing is the rear tire digging a trench into the ground. After I went down, the throttle was pinned, and dug a hole, that it was sitting in once I picked the bike up. For whatever it's worth, we're running 12.5 PSI in the rear - same as all the (tubed) dirt bikes we ride and pretty much the conservative standard.
@ElectricCycleRidercorrection, it was 33 percent left. But still, I’ve been more than happy with the range. I also weigh 230 lbs so I’m not a lightweight 😂
The elevation gain makes a huge difference. My friend and I did a 32 mile ride yesterday with our pro R’s only 1500 feet elevation and had 40 percent battery left. All in mode 2 and a fair share of gravel pit hill climbs
Hi!Here’s the situation: initially, I was getting an E04 error when riding in Mode 3 at speeds over 60. The error would clear after disconnecting the battery. Changing the BMS settings resolved that issue. However, a new problem arose: it wouldn't accelerate past 76, and if I rode at that speed, it would move and accelerate very sluggishly after slowing down. In Mode 3, it wouldn't even launch quickly from a standstill. This sluggish state would last about 40 seconds (sometimes less, sometimes more). Now, after configuring the FarDriver, it goes over 80, but acceleration becomes very slow after 66, and the sluggish acceleration issue persists. I can provide the current FarDriver and BMS settings. I’m really hoping for your help.
I bought an Arctic Leopard XE pro s enduro 21/18 and it's the fastest bike I've ever been on. Thanks guys
I own a Pro R and have since changed the rear shock to RFloxa; lowered the pegs, warp 9 riser bars, direct mount riser block, and a mild controller tune. Very happy with it so far. Also there is an ANT BMS V2 firmware update to correct battery management and range.
I know the angle here is bone stock versus modded-to-@#$%, but adding a direct-mount spacer and w9 3" rise bars was right there, and hardly even "a mod," writ large, and that change transformed my XE Pro S Enduro. Going from "Oh no, i bought a kids' toy for 5 grand" to incredible. I don't even mind the high pegs. You and anyone else who buys an XE Pro platform bike should fix the cockpit first for any comparo to be meaningful. Should it come from the factory like that, probably, but it's such a cheap fix that should be the baseline IMO.
I put a RFloxa 550lb spring on the back of mine and what a difference it makes! I believe the stock tires are terrible; maybe the ride would be more planted and you could plow thru other parts with different tires.
Factory spec is 25 mm at the swingarm chain glide (25.4 mm=1 inch=probably the first joint of your thumb, as a literal rule of thumb). That works well, but the factory chain is pretty chintzy and stretchy and I find myself having to adjust it way too much. Gonna swap for a DID or RK and see how she goes.
I have some older Fox Comp boots in size 12 and i've never felt like i was getting hung up on the XE Pro S Enduro ("Z style" plastics), and I think that's maybe because the inner face of the boot is almost completely smooth. But the other day I rode pretty fast (for me) and the next day had identical light pinch bruises on both legs (never felt it happening) at the top of my boot where it contacts the seat frame -- so you're not wrong, but it may not be as bad depending on your size and boot choice. No goofy side plastics over the frame rails, but a plastic fender with a bit of a 'fairing' lower down to let your boot not hang up on the seat subframe might be the move. Now someone just has to make that thing.
yeah i got mine on Thursday and the chain stretches so much that ive had to re-tension after every ride so far (roughly 25 mile rides each time). might be looking into a better/stronger chain replacement soon
Great question. Bonnell 805 and Arctic Leopard XE Pro R are both great for different reasons and definitely 2 different machines. Not worlds apart but far enough where they are almost in 2 different categories. Will try to break it down: I would consider the Bonnell 805 to be a more "high performance" bike. It's got more power than the XE Pro R. The power feel of the 805 is more of EBMX controller feel as opposed to Arctic Leopard Fardriver controller feel. The chassis feels more stout and stable, likely due to the fact it's got a longer wheel base, is heavier, has a boxed swing arm, Sirris suspension, etc. It's a race oriented machine and the 805 feels like it can be pushed harder in stock trim. It's also going to be significantly more expensive than the XE Pro R! Trying not to repeat what I said in the video too much but the XE Pro R is nimble, fun, playful. It rides lighter than the 805 and feels like it has more lightweight eMoto characteristics, kind of likes to be ridden like a MTB. It's got a pretty narrow wheel base. It's a bit more flexy than the 805, especially in the rear end/swing arm. Suspension is super impressive for the category and price point that it sits in. The gear reduction motor is really nice. And what you get for the price is pretty unbeatable. All that to be said, I know I can charge a bit harder on the 805. When I tried to go flat out on the XE Pro R, I felt slightly in over my head. The XE Pro R became way more fun to ride when I dialed my pace back slightly and just enjoyed playing around. When I did that, it was incredibly fun to ride and felt more intentional. If you're not going to race the bike or not interested in pushing fast pace off road, I think the XE Pro R is a super solid machine, at a super affordable price. If you've got racing on the mind and ride woods with that intent, I think the 805 is going to feel more "at home" in that scenario. Hope that helps.
My boot catches on the same spot.ordered drop foot pegs, 3in high rise bars installed, chain stretch yep… love the ex pro R, mode 3 = wow! need to respect that mode. Great review! Spot on.
2-3 15 min sessions. 25 miles of real trail riding and probably 15miles of track riding. Battery doesn't last much longer than my eride pro 2.0 tbh. The power though is much better. The swing arm is much stiffer. Feels like a real mini vs the eride that feels like a bendy banana mountain bike.
Yeah I am disappointed in the range. You get about 25miles of real riding. I was hoping for more like 40! Other than that, the bar bend sucks. Otherwise, it rips. I'm pretty happy with it. All considered it's a pretty good value.
Thank you for the comment! Yeah stock tires. I hear dunlop vintage990 is the tire to get but they B/O everywhere. You'll enjoy the bike. It's good! My next vid has me clearing 50foot table on it. Kinda sketch on such a small frame. Some good suspension will help. My ext shock won't fit with the arctic linkages. Going to have to wait for linkage or go sirus when they drop theirs.
I have the XE Pro R as well but unfortunately I haven’t had the chance to ride as hard and long as you but I’ve been really impressed with my experience so far. After watching your video even more impressed, you were getting after it, lots of elevation climbs, ruts, rocks. Upgrade the suspension a bit and it will give the Bonnell 805 a run for its money and likely be more fun and more range bc of the weight. Are you running stock tires still?
Thanks! Power is good. I just wish it did 75 not 63
@PikklewikkleI just rode today after 78% of the battery was used I only traveled 13 MI
Depends on what you are doing. But yes, this is better than other bikes I have ridden in this class. Power is much stronger than Ultra bee. Ultra bee feels kinda big and clunky. This bike is more fun and flickable imho. Easier to take up knarly hills because it's smaller/lighter. I will say my 880exe is better for more wide open riding and bigger hits. These small emotos don't do as well on high speed type stuff. They are great for crawling around and playing, but not so good at hammering big open spaces with big rocks and hits. Bike is just too small to push hard. Unlike my 880 which is just like riding a full size moto. Harder in the tight technical, but easier to go fast and hammer if that makes sense.
Duuuude in eco these things are a stalkers wet dream, they're absolutely SILENT. Like a mouse farting. Wheni first took my pro S to the track n was showing some of the other electric guys the new ride, i was going n riding right behind up behind them n tapping em on their shoulder, all because there was a bit of buzz in the distance from the gas bikes on the track but that was it, they couldn't believe I could ride right past them in front and they couldn't hear me one bit from a metre or two away....afterwards they all got back on their UBXs.they looked sad at how crunchy n clicky theirs now sounded in comparison 😂
