We’ve had 3 different e-bikes for 5-8yr kids… the Hiboy is by far the best. Plenty of speed, it’s rugged, and has the best battery life by far. My son rides it all the time. Perfect for honing skills prior to stepping up to a gasser.

After 4 months of watching my son (4 years old) on the Hiboy DK1, I can confirm that this is a GREAT first dirt bike for a kid his size! While there are cheaper electric dirt bikes on the market, this was the most affordable one I could find with a variable speed throttle. Right now my son and I are working on strengthening his throttle control, which means he’s practicing on “speed 3” to help him break the habit of just “gunning it” all the time. So far, I’m pleased with how the bike’s holding up!

Haha true!!! I did actually lower it. Wasn't too much work, but I needed to raise the bars a bit to clear the fork tubes when I lowered the front and put a shorter spring/shock around back. It's been a few years now and it's been great!

Ours is still going strong! My little guy just had it out yesterday.

Nice.. just got one.. The kid is too big for that bike it's more for a 3 to 6 year old.. I think it's better than the razor bike because it has more variables speeds and as lithium battery and it has suspension unlike the razor brand

I got 18mph on this as well as my son.... im 210lbs...... i wanna throw 350 watt on this

So i have new version not sure if its better buit. It does have newer controller i think and says 15.5 mph but my sons clocks over 18 mph... and im.210 lbs and i rode it and hit freaking 18mph per gps on my phone....! I may swap 300 watt out for 350 through for more power as its not much bigger shouldnt need modified frame

I actually owned the MX350 before the Hiboy DK1 and have a lot of things that I liked so much more on the Hiboy. (1) The DK1 has a much better throttle, if you give it 20% throttle then it gives 20% power, whereas the Razor was an on/off throttle (2) DK1 has suspension and the Razor doesn't (3) It's substantially lighter 38lbs vs 49lbs (4) The DK1 has a lithium ion battery, whereas the Razor has a lead acid battery (5) DK1 charging time is 4-5 hours and the Razor is closer to 12 hours (6) Riding Time on the Hiboy is about 1-1.5 hours, the Razor is about 30-40 minutes. In my opinion, the Hiboy is much better especially considering that they are about the same price. Also, I tested out the newest version that comes with a headlight and horn.  I did consider the MX500; but at $700 that was just way too steep for me. Thanks for the question!

Yeah I'm definitely happy we went this route, so far anyways. We'll see how the battery hold up, but other than charging it every once in a while all we ever need to do is press the on button, and GO!

My guess is that you would have to upgrade the battery and the controller to put more power output. But I think the bike has enough power for the age group that it's intended for. It's hard to tell but in the clip where my daughter is going slow uphill, that hill is much steeper than it appears in video and it's much steeper than the 10 degrees that I mentioned. On a normal 10 degree slope if you're going let's say 10mph, the bike will slow to about 7-8 mph.
